Sunrise at Socorro
This song was inspired by a visit my husband and I made, in December 2014 to Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Reserve. This reserve is the winter home for hundreds of sandhill cranes, who come in at sunset and leave at sunrise. The top picture is of an early December sunrise, about 6:30 a.m., and the bottom one is of cranes taking off as the sun comes up. Bosque del Apache is also the home, in summer or winter, to snow geese, many waterfowl, hummingbirds, quail and orioles. With sunrise at 6:30 a.m., we had to get up very early to get these pictures.
